It’s not a secret that we in Denotio are coffee lovers. It’s a stated fact in a work environment, almost as it were a requirement to be consider for a role in this company. How weird would it be that one of our denoters is currently reading a book about coffee, pretty much right? Hahaha I’m just kidding, if you have been following up my blog posts contributions you would know that I’m that kind of guy.

So… how many times have we ended up empty handed without new ideas for content creation? In our case, there’s been a lot, and we’ve seen a lot of frustration and/or stress and no it doesn’t mean you lack creativity nor that your fit is in elsewhere than  in this work position. Let’s face it, it comes with the job, from time to time we need to search for inspiration or motivation to help us come with brand new concepts for our content. We know, been there done that. For all of you who’ve been there or are currently in that spot, we’re glad to share this new hack with you, well maybe not new to the world of marketing but it’s definitely new to us.

Recently, we have stumbled upon with a new approach to guide us to creativity and shelter us in from desperation. Note that this may not be the best approach for everyone, you know sometimes you may need to dig a little and do some research, sometimes it’s exhausting, stressful and some other times it’s quite entertaining.

Well, without further ado, here’s our newest approach:

So it was one beautiful afternoon on March 25th, and I say beautiful because it was The International Waffle Day and you know that I love those sweets. that one of our community managers started to get annoyed that he couldn’t find any more inspiration or information regarding the business of coffee shops, yes he was in this situation, imagine being that guy, you are supposed to love coffee, remember? Well, I wouldn’t react differently than him. Anyway, as I have already told you, one of our peers who’s even more passionate about coffee than us was reading The World Atlas of Coffee by James Hoffmann. She saw that her coworker was in need of help and told him that she was actually reading a book about coffee and showed him her Kindle, she tried to explain a little bit about the foundation of the coffee itself.

Our community manager was intrigued, interested, motivated and excited with this new facts about the business he’s managing, well who wouldn’t be in his position? He asked her if he could borrow a little while her Kindle and of course she was pleased to help. A few days later, he returned the Kindle and was surrounded by incredible new ideas to create new content for his brand.

“Now that I read some pages of this amazing new book I can, with confidence, say that I had no idea about coffee, even though I love it”

He was amused by this and wanted to share it with everyone of us at the office. From then on, our CEO has told us that each of us read a book about each brand’s business we manage to provide new concepts, and let me tell you it has boosted up our performance as well as our accounts engagement and conversions. Besides having a positive impact on the agency and our clients, there’s a positive impact on ourselves as we improve our own habits. We suggest you take this one and see it for yourself, there’s a whole full of information awaiting for you to discover and help you share this content to the community you manage.
