Yeah yeah… I know that you probably just want to skim this post and get the five books I’m suggesting for you to improve your marketing skills, sometimes shorter is better, let me help you out (sorry for all those who actually like my reading). Here are the 5 books:
Content Inc by Joe Pulizzi
A classic one, this might be the foundation of what marketing is all about nowadays and it’s the one that changed my marketing game at the company. A step-by-step guide on how to create awesome content to build a loyal base audience for your Social Media Account and grow in a healthy way. Definitely a must for all stages of marketing. If you haven’t read it yet, check it out at Amazon, I read it in my Kindle, it’s a easy read.
Everybody Writes by Ann Handley
Trust me, you wouldn’t be reading this if it weren’t for this little gem of a book. It has changed my perspective on writing and has pushed me to go on and write amazing content. This one is a personal one, they way Ann guides you through her book is amazing. I learn most of what I know about my actual writing.
Positioning by Al Ries and Jack Trout
How could we create incredible content without knowing how society is going to think about it? Even though this book is from the 80s the fundamentals are still important and I’ld believe that much more needed now than then. Full of strategies on how to target consumer’s mind and how to communicate in the most effective way. In an over-communicated society we must find new ways to stand-out from the crowd.
Mastery by Robert Greene
Wait what? What has this book got to do with marketing? Well it’s not really focused on marketing per se, it’s a great book to help you become the best in what you to, as the title says, to reach mastery. If you ever decide to read this one, you’ll learn lessons from historical figures that reached mastery.
Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely
Ever think out how people decide? How can we trigger an irrational mind trying to decide rationally? Sounds complicated, but what if we could predict those trigger calls and get the mind to do what we want it to do. To do so we must understand our mind and how it works and this book nails that, in the marketing part.
